Lifting expert joins large company group

MARINE equipment specialist Jeyco has joined the Cortland companies, a subsidiary of the Actuant Corporation, and expanded its product range to include specialised heavy lift products from global industry leaders. Jeyco’s sister companies, Cortland Selantic and Cortland Puget Sound
Rope, have been at the forefront of the worldwide push to replace the use of wire rope and chain in the heavy lift industry with high modulus polyethylene (HMPE) slings and rope.
Cortland’s products have been utilised on some of the world’s heaviest and deepest subsea exploration and construction lifts, in depths ranging from 2000m to 7000m, utilising the company’s patented synthetic fibre ropes and slings.
“Jeyco is delighted to be able to increase its offering by incorporating the Cortland range of engineered lifting products,” Jeyco general manager Chris Battel said.
“We are unique in being able to offer the full lifting solution including lift design, HMPE sling design and manufacture, and the manufacture and design of bespoke connectors, shackles and ROV hooks.”
Jeyco’s engineering team can provide a range of services including lead-out design, sea fastening and vessel motion analysis, procedural development, project risk, hazard identification reviews and site supervision and sign off.
The company’s major project clients include Subsea 7, Woodside, Maersk, Technip and Aker.
