Twenty years ago, it had only one drill rig and one drill barge. Today it has increased to four drill rigs including an excavator-mounted Montabert drill rig, Atlas Copco ROC F9C, two 36m dumb barges, two scissor barges, sectional barges and a silt dredge and 25t franna crane.

Cervan Marine’s fleet of rigs can cater to clients’ needs at every stage of a project. This includes development work, control drilling and blasting along vibration sensitive structures. The company can also marinise it air-track drill to cater for subsea drilling projects.

The team is made up of qualified shotfirers with extensive experience and knowledge in controlled explosive blasting and underwater explosive blasting. It works with clients to develop the best solutions for their needs – utilising its wide range of specialised personnel and equipment.

Cervan Marine is currently one of the service providers to Port Hedland port users. It maintains structures and equipment, provides testing and unloading of fuel tankers, completes ship repairs, dive surveys, fabrication work as well as marine construction and dredging.

As the name suggests, Cervan Marine has the ability to work on and under the water. The completion of a 2700m subsea trench for the installation of a communication cable from Indonesia to WA was one of its biggest marine project achievements to date.  Cervan Marine also completed  in 2008  30 thousand cubic metres of underwater rock removal in Dampier for the Parker Point Upgrade. Underwater wastewater pipeline construction at Alkimos north of Perth for the Water Corporation and high spot removal for Sino Iron Tug Pens at Cape Preston in West Australia’s North West (or Pilbara Region)

In addition Cervan Marine is also experienced in all aspects of marine construction. The company recently completed the refurbishment of existing Tug Pens in Port Hedland and fabricated & installed an additional four tug pens for BHP Billiton Cervan Marine  fabricated and installed the steel works, pile driving, floating pontoons, silt and rock dredging for this project. The project was completed in a timely fashion, without injury.

Cervan Marine’s maintenance services are broad in scope. The company maintains assets that require its workforce to be as diverse as the assets themselves. The nature of its work requires a wide range of skills; as a result, Cervan Marine employees are specialised tradespeople including x mechanical fitters, riggers, boilermakers, welders, commercial boat skippers, coxswains and crane operators.
